Remember? We all have a dream; even if it changes occasionally, it's always there, deep in our minds.
I always dream of living abroad, studying, and working, though I have only been able to travel and work abroad for a short time so far. But not bad. I love my experiences abroad; they are not astonishing enough, but memorable and good for me.
In order to apply for the working holiday visa for New Zealand, I took the ELTS. But finally, I gave up because I know it's not a career path that could accumulate or multiply. Working on a farm picking fruit is not exactly the image I'm looking for as a business elite. I reviewed my dream, which is having continual career growth in one territory, instead of earning money and making a basic living while seeing the world, unless I have no choice, indeed.
A similar choice happened several years later when I was looking for remote work. I want to go to Europe instead of Southeast Asia, though the latter has lower expenses and seems much easier. If I can't have what I want, I'd rather wait and work for it until I get it, instead of doing the alternative, which I don't really want. One of my good friends suggested that it takes time before we can get the one we love. Another mentor also told me that I have to work on others before I'm able to choose the way I want. But I'm too stubborn to compromise myself. Since I dedicate into what I do, I'd prefer to spend time where it deserves. I'm pretty clear that I won't go to any country that I'm not looking forward to, just to cheat myself: I'm living abroad already.
Even though I'm on my way, living a life not that bad in Carribean island, enjoying my "retirement life" in others' eyes, with diving and surfing, when I found that I'm not cherished enough, I prefer to stop and spend my precious time on what is really valuable. Time is so limited that we can only "waste" it on what matters in real.
After so many times of analysis, I found that consultancy is where I can add value to the world. Unfortunately, looking for and persuading potential clients made me feel so stressed, hopeless, and helpless. I really don't like this part, though I could be good at it too. Then I was woken up by those who are living in Europe. That's what I really want, and it makes me excited to feel alive. Not staying at home and spending most of my time searching online. When I find a status that I don't like, I change it.
I started to listen to Spanish programs and lessons; I feel the stream in my heart and have become happy gradually, even though I'm not yet on the way there. There must be one thing on the way: the body or the soul. I just love foreign languages; English, Spanish, even Cantonese make me feel energetic. I just don't know how to make this commercialized yet.
I asked myself, what do I really want? To do business at home or go out for my life? I choose the latter. Then the question is, how? Not knowing yet. But I want to do whatever I love. That's solid. Do I really care if I could have my own business? Yes, but seems less important than living abroad. The reason why I strive for my business is that I need economic support for that. I'm so glad that I see it now. I feel clear in my mind and can review my direction before getting drowned in endless searching and messages.
Think positively, and believe that I'll be there one day, maybe very soon! That's the most wonderful thing: to be an entrepreneur is to have the domination of your own way, to select the one you really love instead of obeying others even if you don't like it. Work for yourself; only do things that you want or are eager to do. Then you take back control of your life and can make it the way you want.
